View Full Version : epsxe mouse input plugin?

So I really love this game Clock Tower, and I've been wanting to play it again to relive yet another childhood memory. It uses a point and click interface, and supports the Playstation Mouse.

I have been playing around with PSX emulators all day, and the one that has actually worked is epsxe.

Now I know that there is a mouse input option under the Windoze version of epsxe, but what about Linux?

There are only 2 input plugins for Linux, and neither (as far as I know) have mouse support.

Is it possible at all? It makes the game SOOO much easier, and as I have a laptop, it would just be more fun to play with my touchpad than my keyboard.

Thanks ahead of time.

AFAIK there aren't any, El Lance-O, although there is an application called joy2key (in the repositories) that allows you to map joystick/controller controls to keyboard/mouse functions. Don't think it works the other way round, though.

BTW as far as Playstation emulators are concerned, have you tried pSX emulator (http://psxemulator.gazaxian.com/)? It's the only Linux Playstation emulator that's still in development, and to my mind is far better than ePSXe - apart from anything else, it's simple to install and configure, and needs no plugins.

However, it also doesn't support mouse input. However, since it's still in active development, there is the possibility that this may be included at some point - there have been requests for this.

I did try pSX, and it didn't actually work. The FPS was ridiculously low, and the GUI would screw up all the time.

ePSXe isn't much better, but it's better than nothing I guess.

Oh well..
