I don't offer any Linux/Ubuntu products or services, but since this sub-forum is here I thought I would put in a plug for rsync.net.

It would be wrong to say they are merely my favorite vendor for offsite backups - they are actually my favorite vendor of any product or service of any kind. They do _everything right_.

Technically, there is not much to say - they open their system up for use with rsync and SSH tools, like scp and sftp, etc. I myself simply threw some rsync lines in my root crontab and walked away. I'm going to play around with the duplicity tool later for an encrypted filesystem. They also support svn repositories, dumping of mysql and postgres databases, etc.

But the important things are that you can pick up the phone and talk to someone. They answer emails within minutes - and not with an autoresponder or a ticket system - they actually just talk to you!

Finally, their TOS and privacy policy is very progressive, easy to understand, and very philosophically compatible with the FOSS movement.

I wish everyone ran their business like these guys do. Simple, helpful and "not evil".
