Can anyone give me advice on a good translation program? I went on synaptics and downloaded latrine, but it gives me a 'missing dictionary' error. Anyhow, if anyone knows a really simple and accurate one, please feel free to share :)

Dictionaries can be found here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/freedict/

An online translation service, like babelfish or google translate, probably does better.

One very nice translation website is http://www.ajaxtrans.com/

How do I access those dictionaries, do I need to download a program for that?

No idea, just found the link from the latrine website, you will have to figure that out on your own.
