need help with counter strike source

when i launch counter strike source through steam it freezes before it can load the menu and says loading in the corner but i can only move the mouse pointer and cannot quit so i have to do a force shutdown

i am using wine 0.9.41

this also happens with half life source and when i try to play a simple 2d game like astro pop or bejuled it just shows a white window

i am running a dell with an intel g650 chipset with a x3000 with the i810 driver from the repository
1 gig ram
core 2 duo

i have tried reinstalling and trying to start steam forcing dx 70 81 and 90 but didnt work

i have read around an d have found that other people are having problems with wine using it with 64 bit ubuntu
would this be one of those problems

You can also try on the #winehq channel on freenode, if you ask your question when some knowledgable folks are online i'm sure that you will get the best help ever, however you have to be patient the channel isn't alive all day long.

Why couldn't you connect? What client are you using, and what error message did you get?
