3d icons

Is it possible to have 3d icons when using compiz/beryl? like when you spin the desktop around you can set the open windows to be raised off the desktop, can you do the same with icons?

I don't think so. Possibly because there is no standard for a 3d icon format, or at least I have never heard of it.

I think it is a great idea. I have some programming background, but i would not know where to get started. I just thought i would throw the idea out there. I also posted this question on the open compositing forum to see if someone there knew.
