Java is already installed on my synaptic it just wont run
the firefox says i need plugins and the gedit wont read my download from sunwhat do i do please :rolleyes:

What happens when you type "java -version" in a console?

is what happens the unoffical ubuntu guid is pretty cool but the java apt-get dosent work

E: Couldn't find package sun-j2re1.5 is what it says from the guide site the sun-j2rel.5 is sitting on my desktop in a format that my gedit doesnt belive in hmmm :mrgreen:
