Devanagari fonts not rendering in Firefox32

I have feisty AMD64 installed with firefox32.
Devanagari fonts render correctly in Konqueror and Firefox (AMD64) but in firefox 32 they do not render correctly.

I get this error running from the commandline:

ERROR: ld.so: object '/usr/lib32/libpangohack.so.0' from LD_PRELOAD cannot be preloaded: ignored.

I get no such error with the 64bit version.

Any clues how to fix this?
