Okay, after about 29 straight hours of working on getting beryl on a laptop of a friend of mine.... I FINALLY found a tutorial/walkthrough that actually worked. There are about 20 out there that are really accesible through SEARCHING. Of coarse I went through what seemed all 20 that I found with no luck what so ever in getting this to work. I then stumbled across this guide (http://www.howtoforge.com/ubuntu_feisty_beryl_ati_radeon) that worked perfectly with this Dell Inspiron 9300. This laptop is now running Feisty Fawn with Beryl on a ATI 300 video card. I really hope that when others search (if they do) they run accross this instead of the many others that may not help them. Hopefully this will save SOMEONE some time.
