When attempting to run beryl from the terminal (because icon wont load it) i get this

so beryl wont start..... it used to work... and now all of the sudden it stopped working... also... i can't install emerald... it says i cannot install emerald because it has unmet dependencies (libemeraldengine0) so it wont be installed... but when i go to install that.. it says i have emerald as an unmet dependency and it wont install... (this is using synaptic but apt-get does the same thing) on Feisty Fawn... well... ubuntu ultimate 1.4 (which is feisty fawn) was wonderin if anyone could help!! oh and uninstalling and reinstalling beryl doesnt work thanks!!!

Okay I think I can remedy the problem first fire up Synaptic.
Then search for beryl and completely remove everything Beryl related.

Now fire up a terminal and punch in this:

wget http://download.tuxfamily.org/3v1deb/DD800CD9.gpg

Then go to System>Administration>Software Sources
Then hit the Authentication Tab
Now hit Import Key file, go to your home directory with the pop upped window and double-click DD800CD9.gpg
Now hit the Third-Party Software Tab and hit add and enter this:
deb http://download.tuxfamily.org/3v1deb feisty eyecandy
Now hit add again and enter this:
deb-src http://download.tuxfamily.org/3v1deb feisty eyecandy

Now close the Software Sources window and when it prompts you to reload hit reload.
Fire up Synaptic and search for Beryl.

Now install all the Beryl related stuff you wish and enjoy.

With this repos installed you can install Compiz-Fusion if you want, however I highly recommend also installing Beryl-Manager and the Emerald Window decorator if you wanna go with Fusion (I also recommend if you are gonna stay with Beryl)

okay.. well... it let me install emerald.. which was cool... but beryl still gives the same message... and now i have no title bars haha. so uhh.. any other ideas?

hmm... looking a that just now i realize that the Add (blah blah) visuals isn't loaded in any of the sections... but hmm forgot the code. think it'll help? the 066 or whatefer mode isnt loaded as an option either (but isnt that just for DRI?) any help would be great!

HI I have almost the same card in another system and I found this on a "how to" and you can try this also as it did help me.
In Section "Modules", have
Load "dbe"

in first position.

The Section "Devices" needs this line:

Option "XAANoOffscreenPixmaps" "true"
in last position.
Also, make sure that a Section "Extensions" with this content:

Section "Extensions"
Option "Composite" "Enable"
EndSection

is present.

NVIDIA users have a few extra requirements.

In Section "Devices", those lines are required:

Option "AllowGLXWithComposite" "true"
Option "TripleBuffer" "true"

Finally, the Section "Screen" must includes those entries:

Option "AddARGBGLXVisuals" "true"
DefaultDepth 24

by the way.... card is an nvidia 6200 OC (256 mb PCI) and im using ubuntu ultimate 1.4 (which is based on feisty fawn)
