apt-get crawling

Ok, so today I decide to do an update, and for some reason, the archive.ubuntu.org repositories are only giving me speeds of around 20 kb/sec, even though yesterday they were well around 4-500 kb/sec. Anyone know what happened all of a sudden?

Since I installed ubuntu I've been having similar slow speeds when updating/installing, in fact the highest speed I have got while apt-getting is 104kb/s for about 10 minutes today then it dropped to the usual 12-24kb/s
This is on a 2 meg connection.
When downloading from firefox etc I still get full speeds.
