Hello, my boss wants me to set up a few MySQL servers with 4 processors, and 16g ram. I know the processors won't be a problem, but I'm wondering if I'm going to have to do any kernel customizations for Ubuntu to handle 16g of ram? Or will the standard kernel that comes with Ubuntu-server handle it already?

In theory I believe the server kernel can handle up to 64GB of memory if not higher.

I'd be more freightened by a database that requires 4 CPUs and 16GB of RAM. ;)

Thanks, that's what I was thinking, but wanted to be sure.

Also yeah, I'm not exactly looking forward to this migration.
