Do you often ruin the free time that you do have thinking about how you do not want to work tomorrow? It is really frustrating for me, because I try to have a good attitude about work, but I just cannot. When I get off work is am relieved, but then most of my free time is spent thinking "crap, time is going by really quickly and I will soon be at work again." So a lot of the time I am ruining my free time but regretting and dreading going to work again. It is so frustrating. Also, lately I have just been so stingy with my time. There is almost nothing I do that feels like it is worthwhile with my free time. I can hardly even enjoy my web design book, my programming book and videogames anymore as I am so preoccupied with dreading work the next day and thinking of how I am not using my time effectively. Ugh, it is so annoying.

Does anyone else have similar problems?

I know the feeling. I wish I had a solution! The best you can do is try your hardest to not focus on work when you're not there. If possible, it may help to switch to a job you actually enjoy.

I mean, it is just so frustrating. I wish I didn't think about work at all until I was there and completely did not think about it at all the moment I left. But I sit and I cant even enjoy playing any of my games, or reading my computer books because I am so dreading work tomorrow. Even the free time I have I cannot enjoy because I feel it is going to go so fast and I will be right back at work again. Ugggggh.

Don't worry about yesterday, don't worry about tomorrow. Enjoy what's now:)

The problem is your job. Quit it.

Find a meaningful one doesn't enslave you by dividing your lifetime into cycles of work and recreation, that you'll actually enjoy doing, even if it pays less. If a single one doesn't cut, get two, or more. If there isn't one available to you, create it.

Yes, under the rule of capitalism, in the day to day struggle of business as usual, it's difficult. Yet I've seen people who've done it; it's not impossible. Think in terms of how much more difficult it can be than your life as it is now, and how much more it can suck, if everything goes downhill.

This is almost good advice. Good advice would be "Find another job". DOn't quit your job just because you don't like it; its FAR easier to find another job whilst in work than out of work. I speak from experience.

Find something constructive to occupy your time. Then at least you'll have a sense of accomplishment, rather than spending your time worrying.

I don't worry just think about it 4 about 3 seconds and then go back to my Linux distros.

It doesn't ruin my free time, but every now and then it pops into my head and causes a knot in my stomach.

Only when I have to work full time schedules ( like the next 3 days thanks to the imbeciles at Human Resources who screwed up my schedule ). At least I get double the salary but I much rather have 5 or 6 extra hours ( depending on highway traffic ) for myself.

When im just working part time ( 20 hours at week only ) I do not get stressed at all, after the 4th or 5th customer who blames the pc manufacturer for his router not working with vista I get to go home and relax. That is what I dont get if you look after your expenses you can manage just fine with part time jobs and you get way less stress. As tempting as that extra money might be there are some things money cannot buy.
