I installed Jedi Academy on my hard-drive while running Vista and saw that it has no OpenGl support so I switched to Ubuntu. After I installed wine, i tried to run "jamp.exe". It started to run but then the little terminal-like window that JA produces had this:

JAmp: v1.0.1.0 win-x86 Oct 24 2003
----- FS_Startup -----
Current search path:
Z:\home\ubuntu/base

----------------------
0 files in pk3 files

Running in restricted demo mode.

----- FS_Startup -----
Current search path:
Z:\home\ubuntu/demo

----------------------
0 files in pk3 files
Couldn't load mpdefault.cfg

Its driving me insane. Thank you for your time :)

Did you install Jedi Academy in Wine before you tried to run it or are you trying to run from the Windows install? If you are trying to run from the Windows install, don't do that, it generally won't work. It is better to install the game into Linux through Wine first.

If I try to install it through ubuntu, wine won't take the exe on the JA disc. It freakes out and says its "bad".

What .exe are you trying to use for the install (autorun.exe, setup.exe, etc.)? How are you running it, i.e. what are you typing into the terminal to run it? What is the exact error message you get when trying to install it?
