hey does anyone have suggestions for good giant robot games, like mech assault or even better, like armored core?

Dark Horizons (http://www.garagegames.com/products/29/) is a Mech game with a free demo. It's worth a look.

It's early in development but Mars: No Mercy (http://www.marsnomercy.org/) looks like it is going to be good. Since it is open source you could help develop it. :)
