I used to play a skateboarding game called Gnarly when I used windows. I was wondering if there are ANY skateboarding games available for linux. The link to the other game is www.thisisgnarly.com Any ideas?

Cheers, izizzle

You might have some luck running it under wine. wine (http://www.winehq.com)

Sorry man but for most Windows games that are at all compatible Wine or Cedega (pay for it but has I think more current games added to it) will be the only way to run them.:(

I know that.... But I was asking if there are any skateboarding games native to linux. Meaning that you do not have to use some sort of emulator.

None that I'm aware of.

You could try searching sourceforge and see if there are any open source skating games.
One of em might have a Linux build or at least compilable source.

Wine is not an emulator, it is an alternate implementation of the Windows API on Linux. Not that it really matters, I tried running the demo for Gnarly in Wine and it didn't work at all. I also have looked for decent sport games on Linux and there really aren't many (good ones, that is).

I just tried Gnarly in WINE.
It installs and runs but is too slow for me to play.

It may just be my slow system though so you might want to try it again.

Why not try one of the older tony hawk's games in a PSX emulator?
