Extract the files from the gZip provided from Tibia's site to your desktop then, to run the Tibia Binary:
$ cd Desktop/Tibia
$ chmod 755 Tibia
$ chmod +x Tibia
$ ./Tibia

I'm trying to install Tibia on Ubuntu 7.10. I have the Tibia800.tgz file, and I've extracted it onto my desktop, but nothing I try seems to get the binary that everyone talks about to run..
Please help me figure this out.

I'm having problems running tibia 8.0 on Ubuntu 7.10 too.
I've installed it according to the instructions, checked all the support resources on tibia.com, tried everything, but when I run the executable I just get nothing, a window opens for a fraction of a second then closes. When I try to run it in the console I get a "Not Found" message even if I can clearly see it's there.
What's up with this?

Hello im not a pro on ubuntu i just started using it but i made it work.
I did like:
1. Download tibia from www.tibia.com (linux ver.)
2. extrakt the file and put it on desktop so you know where it is.
3. open the map that you got.
4. open the file (tibiastart.sh)
5. push on run or run in terminal then the game will start.
Its very bid delay on the mouse and a bit lagging. but i think it will work better in wine.
Gl Hf!!

Yea I did what Ompaa did to get the game to run, but still need an ip changer to play in the Open servers, which are much better then the official servers.
