When i load Enemy Territory it just makes the screen black, if i move the cursor to the edge it will move so i can see the desktop.

I followed the instructions on installing the ATI drivers and the drivers are fine.

Any one know what the problem is??

EDIT: It pauses while intializing the sound engine.

Have you tried disabling ESD? I'm not sure this is a cause but it's worth a shot.

pkill esd

If this works you can have it disabled on startup by:

System > Preferences > Sound
And untick "Enable sound server on startup"

I will give it a try later, im in XP at the moment after getting frustrated at the ATI drivers.

Not 100% if it's worked. But until the ATI driver problem is fixed i won't know.
