The only thing keeping my brother of Linux, is online poker. He mainly plays at ladbrokes, but a couple of other sites too... I'm running a 64-bit system, and my 32-bit chroot is pretty fubar, so can't really check this out my self.

Are there any Linux gamblers out there who got any of the online poker sites programs to run? AFAIK almost all of them run on the same software with a few modifications. I guess you need Java (that's not a problem) and Internet Explorer (do-able).

Any info on this would be greatly appreciated. :)

Geez... Should have used the ******* search button before starting this thread... Another thread like this was started a few days ago. Sorry. There wasn't any answers though, so I guess this thread is still valid.

A new pokersite to play at, is always welcome (as far as i know, I don't really play my self), but he has a lot of cash on those other sites too, and I can't see him giving up playing on those tables.

Thanks for the link though.

I am said brother, and would like a solution to this problem. It doesn't seem like there's any easy way, but it doesn't look imposibble from where I stand.

It might be the pokersites that are at fault for this, but that's not really relevant when theres money at stake, and money locked in.

if there is a windows client that you use, cedega should work. i use it for partypoker. you do have to pay around $5 a month for cedega though. you also might be able to get them working under wine (cedega used to be winex).

I would recommend http://www.unixpoker.com for you since they list tournaments, freerolls and other stuff as well as linux/unix supported rooms.

I attempted to install the party poker client on my system to no avail. Although, im not really that knowledgable with cedega (I am using cvscedega btw).

If you figure out a way to get this stuff to work in linux, im all ears.

I tried with Wine and the first time I launched the pokerclient it worked great. However - when I returned the next day and tried it again the client crashed on me :(. I havent looked into it since. Im playing from my Windows workstation now - and YES that really sux. It hate when I have to use it - feels like a defeat every time.

PokerStars works great under Wine.

How the hell do you get any other clients running? I've tried Cedega (trial), Crossover Office, Wine, and gotten no other sites running. I hate dualbooting Win98 just for Party.

When the Party client runs, the client hangs and infinitely repeats the "Connecting to Party" screen and never gets to the lobby. Help?
