I have followed this guide (http://linux.wordpress.com/2007/02/07/wine-gaming-steam-half-life-half-life-2-counter-strike-source-and-16/)
I have downloaded and copy the tahoma.ttf fonts on the ~/.wine/drive_c/windows/fonts folder
Then I have typed wine SteamInstaller.exe and Steam completed his updates
The next screen it's login screen, but I don't see any letter at all
Any idea about this?

Fixed, I was installing it like root, but it seems it doesn't work fine that way
I installed it like normal user and now runs well

You need to have a font installed. The 'Tahoma' font I think it is. Find a TTF file for the Tahoma font and put it into your ~/.wine/drive_c/windows/Fonts folder.
I won't upload it here because I think there are some licencing issues.
But this is a classic half life 2 under linux/wine problem.
EDIT: Ok so I just re-read the first post properly. I'll go hide in the corner now.

And make sure to not ever install any wine apps as root.
