There's a lot of games in the Feisty repositories and in the extended reps, which are worth installing? :)

If you like First Person Shooters, consider Nexuiz or Warsow (Warsow is available on http://getdeb.net).
For realtime strategy games, there's globulation (glob2 in the repos).

remember that there are some very good console emulators such as zsnes, fce ultra, pcsx, and gens.
so if you have any of the freely available roms from the internet you can play these for all but the most modern consoles.
(for legal reasons I should probably remind you that as I understand you should own these games in real life, or delete within 24 hours of download?)

It's still not legal even if you own an original copy. I read up on it, and im going to try that glob game now ;)
PS. if you don't tell anyone about the roms I promise I won't.

Hey i just tried to install Glob2 and got this message
glob2:
Depends: glob2-data (=0.8.21-4build1) but 0.8.23-0~getdeb1 is to be installed
Any idea what this is/how to fix it?
PS. If I should move this just let me know, you can probably tell I'm new here. :)
Thanks either way, Odracir123.

Never mind, I had installed the data file first, so I tried removing it and it worked. Ill leave this here if it's OK, so other newbs might see it. If it's not OK, just let me know and I'll remove it :)

Sticking to stuff that hasn't been posted yet:
Chromium - this game has more depth than I would've ever expected out of a scrolling space shooter; hard as hell, which makes it all the more rewarding when you start getting good at it. :D
Briquolo - the best Breakout clone, hands-down. Some unique power-ups and exceptional graphics.
Others worth checking out: Ltris, KoboDeluxe, SolarWolf, Neverball/Neverputt, Crack Attack, Wormux... Honestly, I'd just recommend going down the list in Synaptic, checking off what sounds interesting and installing it. Then go back and uncheck whatever you don't like. One of my favorite things about Linux is how easy it is to un/install stuff - pretty much takes any hesitation out of checking out software I'm curious about.
As far as what has been mentioned, Nexuiz is way up there. If you want to try it out, I'd recommend getting the version from GetDeb.net, as it gave some noticeable performance improvements on my system.

Ok, the really good games are BOS Wars, Tremulous, and Open Arena, all available via Add/Remove.
(I think BOS Wars is under the name Stratagus).
If you really like gaming, I'd look up America's Army v2.5 for Linux.
Easy to install, but if you are having trouble, P.M. me and I will help.
Some people also like World of Padman.

If you're fan of inter-galatic adventure games, I'd recommend The Ur-Quan Masters (http://sc2.sf.net/)

PCSX is a very old and long out of development emulator. There are at least two Playstation emulators that work much better now; one is ePSXe (http://www.epsxe.com/news.php), which also seems to have ceased development and the best of all is pSX (http://psxemulator.gazaxian.com/), which _is_ still in development.
As far as ROMs/images of games are concerned, there's no such thing as legally being able to have them for 24 hours. Unless a game is in the Public Domain or you own it, it's illegal to download it or have a copy - full stop. It's questionable, even, as to whether you can own a ROM/image that's not an actual copy of the game you own. As to whether this is enforced, it depends very much on the organisation that owns the copyright.
That's one of the nice things about Playstation emulation - a large number of Playstation games are still available, new and used, and usually pretty cheap. Most Playstation emulators (certainly the three mentioned) will play the CDs directly and, being CDs, they're also easy to rip - no special equipment needed, although they may sometimes be copy protected.

What are your system specs? I was surprised to find Nexuiz and OpenArena play reasonably well on my old laptop (1.3GHz Celeron, 256MB RAM, Intel i815 onboard graphics); granted, I had to turn off most of the fancy graphical effects.
