How can i play Steam games without the 2 toolbars showing up!

If you mean the 2 Gnome Bars, its quite easy..
Just left click on them, select Properties.. then select show hide buttons... hit Ok and you are Done..

Now you can properly hide the bars before starting your games.

I have repeatedly downloaded tribes, and I still can't find one that contains clientprefs.cs. I have also tried to download the file that was here and I'll I get it something called attachment.php. This may sound noob like but I really need help.

In winecfg, turn off the option "Allow the window manager to control the windows". That usually allows Wine apps to run in true full screen.

Um... are you in the right thread? The thread starter was asking about Steam in fullscreen, you're asking something about Tribes? I'm confused...
