morrowind crashes

i just installed Morrowind via WINE, i already changed my audio to emulator like the terminal tells me to, but teh game still crashes at first loading screen (before the game menu appears) I know i have to change the music file, but where do i go, and change it to what?

Well for me it's not the sound that's causing the crash, but the fact that none of the mod (and esm) files are being loaded/found.

Don't mouse-click on either dialog option when Morrowind complains about missing music files. Just press Enter (or Escape, I forget) and it will continue without them.

Not that it helps in my case. Once I have overlaid windows (e.g. the inventory, map, etc, really anything after I create a character and "take your papers"), it crashes.

Music runs now as of wine 0.9.38, so it should be just copy protection that's causing the problem. Apply a no-cd crack from http://www.megagames.com

ok, update, after i had problems with my desktop, and didnt feel like fixing them at the moment, i got my laptop, and started working on it.

I did everything that was suggested to do, and it worked, so i went ahead and installed the no-cd-crack, and now, the game crashes completely before even the title screen comes up.

Any suggestions, or should i re-install everything except the no cd crack, and just run off the cd itself?
