I'm looking to upgrade my processor at the moment and I'm wondering what the best processor I would be able to upgrade to would be...

Running an Asus a8v Deluxe mobo (socket 939) with an AMD Athlon 64 3500+ Processor.

I know i'd have to use a socket 939 processor, but does that also mean I'm limited to single-core AMD's?

(Don't mind about the AMD part, do mind about one friggin core.)

Thanks guys.

doesn't look to me like your very limited in the CPUs you can use:

I think I'll go for an "AMD Athlon 64 x2 Dual Core 4400 1MB Cache per core Socket 939 OEM Processor". In my price range - but I'll take it down the I.T. shop so they can blow my machine up, not me.

Thanks :)
