Gaming Server Hardware Requirements

Hi all,

I'm going to setup a gaming server for a lan party. I have a P4 2.4 with a 1gb of ram and onboard video. Would this be good enough to run a server for 4-6 people for some quake3 / Et style FPS games?

In my opinion it should work fine, 2.4ghz and 1gb of ram is almost overkill for a server. ^_^
But more never hurts, just make sure your network hardware (router ect) is able to handle the connections and you should be golden.

The video card is irrelevent as a game server doesn't usually a video card.

yeah, we got a 2.4 P4 with 768MB RAM that handled fine with ~12 people on CoD/2
