If your using the package manager try opening the Terminal tab just below the progress bar. If your installing java for the first time you have to scroll thru a EULA and then accept it for it to continue.

I may be biased, but anyone who uses limewire, etc. is just asking for trouble. Use bittorrent, or edonkey, much safer, and the quality of what you download is better too.
To do this in firefox download torrentbar:
http://torrentbar.torrent.pl/
Use that to search for torrents, and use any one of the numerous bittorrent clients out there.
Just avoid using the bittorrent.com search engine.

We are on a open source site, one of the important things that enable open source is copyright. I hope you are not downloading things you have not paid for. The RIAA is actively seeking to find people who are and suing them.

Yes, exactly.
I was more referring to the problem of viruses, etc. on the the more popular P2P systems, while things like bittorrent are point to point, and usually faster. People who use bittorrent and edonkey are usually more discerning in what they carry.
Anyone dumb enough to downloaded movies or music, when the **AA is actively tracking this activity deserves whatever they get:
