Hey y'all,
I'm using edgy and need to install the package libghc6-hgl-dev for a project. Sadly, this package seems only to be available for feisty and is not in edgy backports. I've tried compiling from source but I get all sorts of errors and have even tried modifying the makefiles and sources to no avail.
This package depends on some other packages, namely ghc6 >= 6.6, while edgy only has ghc6 6.4.2. I'm not really into upgrading since some hardware features that work with edgy on my dell seem to be gone in feisty (I know this because my ex-girlfriend has an almost identical computer and upgraded to feisty).
My question is: how bad can it be if I go to packages.ubuntu.com and start downloading the packages and dependencies I need and install them in edgy? Maybe even put feisty's universe in my sources.lst.
Is this an option? How bad can I screw up my system?
Thanx in advance,
