I am a newby here but I do have some experience with Linux based OS. I am having trouble getting the new Ubunutu 7.0.4 to load on my Compaq Presario with an Athlon 3200 processor. I can't even run the live CD. I have tried the 64 bit version and the regular i386 with no luck. I can take the i386 version and pop in my laptop with no problems. I get all the way to the "Install or Run" menu and click it. When it runs for a min i get this list of errors and have to bail the install. I have tried this on two separate HD's with no luck. The only thing I have seen is the Integrity Check version of the CD does find 3 files with errors but it will run on my laptop. ANY HELP WILL BE APPRECIATED! Below is a list of the errors I receive.

To me it would seem you have corrupt burn. I would try re-burning the iso at a slower speed.

I burned pretty slowly at 4x I think. I was reading around, seems like there are a lot of problems with the 64bit systems. Is is possible to install a 32bit version of Ubuntu like with XP? I cant get that version to run either. Thanks for your reply
