Hi!
I recently had a motherboard chipset cooler failure and changed it to an heatsink (http://www.coolermaster.com/index.php?LT=english&Language_s=2&url_place=product&p_serial=PAC-P01&other_title=+PAC-P01+Northbridge%20Chipset%20Cooler) and I installed lm-sensors (from a great How-to in this forum) and started tinkering with it.My motherboard temperature is now beetween 40º to 42º and my CPU temperature is something beetween 37º to 52º.But I don't know if I truly trust this values since I've got an Aerogate 2 (http://www.coolermaster.com/index.php?LT=english&Language_s=2&url_place=product&p_serial=ALD-V02&other_title=+ALD-V02+Aerogate%20II) stating that my processor temperature is something beetween 32º and 38º.
How are your values in lm-sensors?Do you have a function panel also saying different temperatures? Is the error in lm-sensors or the function panel too high?
Do you know of some websites with recommended motherboard and cpu temperatures (google search returned some usefull sites for the CPU temperatures but not for the motherboard).
Thanks!
Pedro Carrico
PS: My computer is a amd64 3500+ with an A8N-SLI.

Hey there,

I use lm-sensors and it works out well for me. There are a few different ways that a mobo can get the temperature for you. Some are more accurate than others. If you go to the lm-sensors page, you will learn more about mobo and case cooling. I run AMD here and I found this page interesting: http://139.95.253.213/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE/,/?St=29,E=0000000000150900218,K=6035,Sxi=19,Solutio n=3913

I can't find any information on case cooling in their site...could you give me an URL?
I'm beggining to worry if my motherboard temperature isn't too high  can't seem to find information on the net regarding recommended motherboard temperatures...
Thanks

Hey there,

Do a google on overclocking and case modding. Those sites always have good info.
