I have Kubuntu loaded on my IBM Thinkpad tablet PC. It started life with the other (not to be named) operating system. To date, the only thing that I miss from the original package is the ability to fill in a blank field using the stylus for the WACOM tablet in lieu of the keyboard. Optical character recognition would be nice, but not necessary.
OK, I can create a virtual keyboard using JAVA. Clicking on the keys with the stylus creates text. How do I (1) get the keyboard to be invoked when I click on a field, and (2) How do I transfer the text that I have typed with my virtual keyboard to the field?

Hello,

Look at these packages:

xvkbd
onboard
gok
xstroke (found by searching in the forum - it's not in the repository)
onestroke (google - also not in the repository)

Cheers,
