I want my bars back!

I had to do a reinstall to figure out what happened to my wireless card. After reinstalling, I started customizing my desktop. I removed the 'notification area' from the top and added it to the bottom. But now, my 'wireless'(bars)/network manager is not there. There is a network monitor in the add to panel window, but that isn't what I am looking for....How ca I get my 'bars' back?
PS - When I clicked on this icon before, it would show all of the wireless networks in the area, just FYI

You need to add the "notification area" back to the panel, its in the utilities section.
