View Full Version : kiba dock wont run without terminal being open

Running Ubuntu 7.04

Ive installed kiba dock works fine when i type kiba-dock in the terminal but when I close the terminal window the dock also closes is this normal? or is there something I can do to fix this?

2nd day working with ubuntu and lovin it!!! :D

Yes, that's normal. Try gedit in the terminal, then close it. This is because the terminal 'owns' the application. But you can press Alt+F2 and run it, or make a launcher.

Or if you want it on all the time just go to Preferences>Sessions and add the command there.

you can also type it as follows to "separate" it from the terminal:
