Hi boys and girls,
I have a little problem with Enemy Territory.
When I try to launch ET, the game freezes immediately.

This is the code of terminal.

My Motherboard is a Gigabyte Ga-8IK1100 Rev 1.0 with i875P and, as audio chip, a Realtek 658.

Thank you. :D

Try this. Worked on me.

I'm having a similar problem, but want to keep the threads condensed.

I'll launch ET, and it'll start through the startup script, but hang immediately. The screen blanks and the program halts. If I move my (currently invisible) cursor to the right or bottom of the screen, it scolls to reveal the side or bottom of my desktop, resized to a lower resolution. When starting it from the terminal, the last thing I see is some reference to sound, though I cannot be absolutely sure as the screen blanks immediately after.

I'm running Hoary on a Shuttle SN45G (nforce2 chipset) with an Athlon XP Barton and 512 megs of ram and about as much in my swap partition with a GeForce 4 Ti, using the onboard audio.

Thanks!

For a quick fix, disable the sound server startup in System>Preferences>Sound

hope this helps :)
