gnormalize is already at gnormalize-0.49 (http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/gnormalize/gnormalize-0.49.tar.gz?download). Maybe it hasn't got much attention.

I installed 0.52.

Got the tar ball...make install.

Works great.

I'm converting some of my ape files to flac right now.

I had a tough time getting support for ape at first. Once I found the right repository everything "just worked."
