Hi,
I've started the European Ubuntu Clan. See this thread : http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=240069
Im creating this website : www.katanoon.nl/ubu-e And I can use some input/suggestions/tips.
The site needs some general polishing. The css needs some polishing. Also I'm gonna create a php script so other clans can easily challenge us.
Our clanmember [ubu-e]ichi has created the ubu-e banner.
reasoning behind the website :
-It should be simple and clean
-just html (and php if needed)
-I have no acces to mysql but I won't need it
-It should use a CSS file to easily change stuff/colours
-only use ubuntu colours+white+#f7f5f0 (content background colour same as ubuntuforums)
-no flash (except for intro movie)
-no client side scripting
- XHTML 1.0 strict + CSS (validated)
-internet explorer and firefox support
-optimized for 1024x768 (has to work in 800x600 also)
-images : png (using open source products like gimp / inkscape / blender)
The current css :
http://www.katanoon.nl/ubu-e/style.css
For the colour pallete see :
