We wanted to put the trash on an area of the user interface that is always
available, thus the panel applet. It ends up being really handy, and in the
future, we'd like to see more delete operations throughout the interface
working with the trash applet.

You have an interesting idea in clearing off the
desktop but I don't understand the dichotomy of the
trash on the task bar and the computer access in some
menu.

I think putting the nautilus/computer start interface
beside the trash can would be more intuitive as trash
is really just a folder itself anyway.

In fact, maybe only a computer icon is required which
would launch a nautilus window that showed home/file
system/network/trash as a start point. Menus aren't
really spatial, right?
