Hey All

I recently had a wow moment (epiphany more likely) after installing Ubuntu on my Dell c840 laptop (I had been using Red Hat 9 on an old 486). So, as a result of that I'm seriously considering getting a powerbook G4 as a mobile development machine, just 'cos it looks cool, has a great battery life and is pretty small and neat.

If I did get a mac, I wouldn't even try doing a dual boot with Tiger, as any of the tools that I could use on a mac are too expensive anyways, so I wouldn't use them. Just a nice clean install of Ubuntu.

So, does anyone actually use a powerbook to do web dev using Ubuntu? - after doing some initial research, I'm a bit reticent to do so as it seems there are a few issues that may make the whole process not "just work"... (everything just worked when putting Ubuntu on my dell)...

If not, then I'm just gonna grab a Dell Inspiron from the Dell outlet (http://www1.euro.dell.com/content/products/compare.aspx/inspn?c=uk&l=en&s=dfo) and go well with Dell... ;-)

This is what I've read so far:
