Can anyone help?

My sister has a NEC computer with an ATI SB400 AC'97 soundcard. She needs to use Windows to study for her ICT exam.

Now, in Ubuntu, the soundcard was detected immediately. In Windows...hell. Where the hell do I get these drivers?? I've scoured the web, and nothing, nada.

For all those who've been saying that Windows hardware detection > Ubuntu's...](*,)

you could try driverguide: http://www.driverguide.com/

you have to sign up for an account, but it's free (just untick all the unwanted junk boxes!)

either that, or try the ati support website,

best of luck

Thanks for the reply. I tried the ATI website, no luck...

She doesn't care anymore now...she just told me to take that Windows sh** off, and let her get back to work with Ubuntu...:p

Did you try the manufacturer of your PC? The drivers should be on their website or else they should have given you a driver CD.
