Installing XAMPP

I am very new to Ubuntu Server and Linux shell. I installed Ubuntu Server with LAMP and it is working fine but I would like to install XAMPP instead because it has a very user friendly web based interface that I like:

How do I install XAMPP from the file I downloaded into a CD-R?

Do I need to uninstall my current LAMP stuff first?

I re-installed ubuntu server without installing LAMP. The setup says select one of DNS or LAMP and I chose none of them and continued installation and it worked fine. After that, I installed XAMMP on the server.
