View Full Version : So... who uses Ubuntu under Virtual PC?

I'm installing it now... anything I should watch out for?

Yes, for the slowness. And you'll need to give the PC at least 256 MB RAM (if you have 512 or more in your mac). Didn't try it, but I did try a lot of other linuxes. Especially those heavy graphical interfaces like Gnome and KDE are slideshows.
Why don't you install the PPC version to try out, or don't you use the PPC Live CD on your mac? It's not that hard and much faster :).

Be wary, Linux may not run at all in the newer versions of Virtual PC, that happens cause when M$ bought VPC from connectix they (M$) removed the support for Linux as a "bugfix".

I run KUBUNTU under the latest version of Virtual PC, for web-site testing purposes. It runs fine, if somewhat slowly - makes no difference in my situation.
