Hi there,

I've been following this guide (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=82835) to change my bootsplash, unfortunately to no avail. I'm going for the "Blubuntu" look and if anyone has a blue Ubuntu bootsplash or experience with changing it on Feisty, please don't hesistate to share. :D

Well I am a nebie, but did figure it out this is how I done it. Open a terminal window type
sudo hit enter, if it asks for a p/w then put in your root password hit enter. Then Type "sudo gdmsetup" and hit enter You will get a window says Login Window preferences click on local then just drag your new bootslash to it and select it.

Here are a few blue Ubuntu boot-slashes http://www.gnome-look.org/index.php?xcontentmode=150

Ya, uh.... that first, lone sudo is unnecessary - just sudo gdmsetup should work fine....

Thanks for the help guys. I'm afraid gdmsetup configured the login "splash window". I'm after changing the bootsplash, the screen that shows up after you exit GRUB but before you enter your login details. Any ideas?

Ace of Bytes,

I was wanting to do the same as you and change to a blue tint on the first screen after Grub. The graphics are perfect, just want to change to blue instead of orange/brown. I'm amazed that I just logged on here and imediately found someone wanting to do the very same thing. I didn't even have to do a search.

Hehe, the community is great. Hopefully we'll figure something out. There seems to be a high demand for "Blubuntu", surely there's something out there.
