I am just trying to figure out what programs i need to create my own theme, if i dont need any where can i find a good resource on how to or a link to another thread that shows how...couldnt find one though the search option

Lol, sorry i meant specificly for Gnome, but for XFCE i would like some tips also just so i know :-)

Well I wrote a "HowTo" for xfce gtkrc themes that is from Edgy 6.10, but it's basically the same for 7.04.

I think if I re-write this I can make it easier to follow, it's one of the reasons that I don't link people to it anymore, also because I have started to do things a little differently now.

I think the hex color codes for the: bg, fg, text, and base are pretty much the same.

I'm going to re-write this and update it soon to my use new style of theme which I think makes the themes look a lot better.
