I just wanted to share the fabulous job of trevinio with you.
I Just tried the next of beryl, today following the how to here:
http://compiz.org/Compiz_GIT_Ubuntu_Repository

and looked at the git explanations here:

http://www.opencompositing.org/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=131

I have installed the new thing (apt-get etc..) and it look very promising!!
so donot forget the plugins:(as well provided by trevinio of course=)
http://www.opencompositing.org/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=131&start=120#p4971
here they are:
http://download.tuxfamily.org/3v1deb/xtra-debs/compiz-compcomm-name-in-progress/compcomm-plugins+git20070612.tar.gz

when everything was installed I just changed in system=>preference=>session
compiz --replace ccp
instead of beryl-manager as command
and to keep emerald (I don't know why I like it)
i created a new entry with
emerald --replace

It works actualy very fine and look very stable at this stage.

Just one or two plugins gave me some headache., or didn't work at all and there is no cube transparency at the moment..

to see the output of this brand new fashion-wm :
http://www.opencompositing.org/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=690

to configure the baby do not forget to install the compizconfig-settings-manager (why a name so complicated ?)
sudo aptitude install compizconfig-settings-manager
you will find then an entry in system=>preference in your menu or type ccsm in a terminal...

Good luck and thanks to trevinio once more.
