Well, i just found out about the Alt + Tab switcher in XP and got to say that it really is quite plan and was wondering if there were any and i mean anything thats not virus/Spyware or any of that bad stuff that'll allow me to change to look of it because it is just too plain.

You're talking about a "dialog" that's deep in the recesses of Windows, no doubt protected well by the system. Unless you find a "power toy" straight from Microsoft, I'd say you're limited in what you can do with the switcher's look.

I have seen some programs for alternative "shells" that might change that (plus a whole lot more of your interface). But who would you trust to download them from?

Too bad they didn't make a debian repository for XP. (Please beat me up for this statement in a new thread!) Crappy downloads are the primary reason I've switched all I can away from the Windows platform.

Do the keys fast enough you don't see how ugly it is.

1-2-3, do with me:

click shift-click
Ctrl-C
Alt-Tab
click
Ctrl-V
Alt-Tab

click shift-click
Ctrl-C
Alt-Tab
click
Ctrl-V
wrong place dammit
Ctrl-Z
click
Ctrl-V
Alt-Tab

... as I learned on a Mac in the late eighties. Most powerful trick evarr! Guaranteed to mold your left hand into an arthritic cramp after a few days of doing this straight.
