Matt,
libapache2-mod-php4 should be good enough. I just didn't know that
ubuntu has this included coz I didn't install it yet. I only checked
the distrowatch page and it says you don't have PHP.
Thanx for the speedy reply,
Sameh

Do you know where to send corrections for distrowatch? We would like to
correct that error. I don't see an obvious link on the page to do that:
http://distrowatch.com/table.php?distribution=ubuntu

I think you can send an e-mail at : distro at distrowatch.com (cf:
http://distrowatch.com/dwres.php?resource=about)

Thanks, I've sent a correction.

We support libapache2-mod-php4 version 4.3.8, which was current at the time
of our freeze. 4.3.9 is not very old; it was only released two days ago.
:-) We are not currently accepting new upstream code right now except to
fix release-critical bugs. After the Warty release, of course, we will open
the floodgates again.

Hey everybody,
What I really liked about ubuntu the moment I saw it was that it's a
single CD distro and yet it has all important packages I am looking
for. I want to suggest adding PHP 5.0.2 or the older 4.3.9 to this
great selection. This will make it cutting edge for web developers -
like me :)
Almost every single CD distro discard packages that are important for
developers (httpd, MySQL, ...). Other large distros try to have all
packages in the world and end up with a huge amount of things I will
never need.
keep on the good work guys ;)

I think it would be better if we had a package 'group' (don't know the
proper word for this) which on one click would install Apache, PHP and
mySQL and set them all up.
Something like apt-get install lamp or similar.

Just a smal note:
apache and MySql are already there. I only used them as an example. My
request is for PHP only.
Cheers,
