I am completely new to Ubuntu and Linux, I am using it simply because it is free, although i would love to learn how to use it fully. At the moment all i want to do is get on steam and finish half life episode 1. I am using this tutorial: http://www.linux-gamers.net/modules/...ge=HOWTO+Steam

at one point I need to download WineCVS.sh,
Then:

Change to the location where the WineCVS.sh is lying and start it with:

sh WineCVS.sh

but the terminal tells me i cannot open WineCVS.sh
i have no idea what to do
oh and point me in the right direction if is the wrong forum topic

thanks

Don't bother with the WineCVS portion of the instructions, it's not necessary to install the CVS version when you can get and install a stable release just by doing this in a terminal:
sudo apt-get install wine
