I have posted a few of my funny windows problems Linux fixed but here is yet another I find even more hilarious. We all know Linux has problems working with Broadcom wireless cards, however we also all know that with ndiswrapper it works fine. Well I had windows back on my comp for about 5 months just for compatability goodness with other things. Recently I got married and moved into an apartment. There are about 5 wireless signals around and one coming from across the street business. Well with windows it would find one (that didnt have WPA) and connect then because signal strength was low it would just give up and disconnect on me. Over my honeymoon (yes I know this is terrible of me) I downloaded Linux Mint and got stuff going very easily since as we know Mint has everything pre installed to work out of the box (even a GUI version of ndiswrapper) and once I got back to the apartment suddenly once I find and connect to a wireless signal it stays connected for good. I thought this was rather cool and felt like sharing yet another funny triumph of my Linux experience over my Windows experience. The end.

hmm, why do they call some distros after women, is it a bit of fun:D or is cassandra named after her greek namesake; "she who entangles men":D

I thought of naming my beta versions of Copland after ex girlfriends, so maybe that's what it's all about!

She asked me to take Cassandra off the start Menu and Login screen though or she wouldn't use it lol. But she was amazingly ok with me playing with Mint whilst she read her novels about men and their sweaty muscles carrying a girl up the steps etc... But yeah Mint is my choice Distro too, it works perfectly out of the box except for a 5 minute or less setup of my Wireless.
