Some help on System Requirements

I'm currently doing a research on different types of Linux Operating Systems for my college project and I've chosen Ubuntu for one of the Top 5 Linux. I would like to get some information regarding the following :-

- System software requirements for Ubuntu Linux. Requirements of Ubuntu Linux kernel, shells and well as the X Windows GUIs.

- System hardware requirements for Ubuntu Linux with regards to CPU, memory and hard disk space.

This is just my guess:

Minimum needed is 128mb of ram, about 4 gigs of hard disk space, and a 300mhz processor.

It likes to have (aka the improvements kinda level off at) 512mb ram, 10 gigs hard disk space, Pentium 4 class computer (2+ ghz).

thanks for the information :) , but i do need more exact information on the system requirements :-? . i can't seems to find it anywhere so i decided to try the forums. if anyone free to drop by to give me a little help on this, thanks again.
