Hi,
I installed Quake 4 on Ubuntu Edgy following a guide I found on Linux.com.
Just like UT2004, visually the game runs better than on Windows but the sound is completely distorted.
On the same guide there is the solution of this problem : get to the Quake 4 console -- by typing Ctrl-Alt-~ instead of simply ~ as you do in Quake 3 -- and entering set s_driver oss.
My problem is that I can't enter the console, probably because I have an italian QWERTY keyboard and there is no ~ (when I need it, for example on the command line, I type ALT GR + ì).
According to an italian language forum, this \ should replace the tilde but, despite having tried all possible combinations, I still can't get to the console.
Does anybody have any suggestion?
Thanks.

You can start the game with a console on-flag
