so I've got this crazy error that I've seen other people have, but have found no fix for it yet.

my problem is this: when I enable the or install the nvidia graphics driver, whether its off the nvidia site, the nvidia-glx, or glx-new, xorg randomly spikes the cpu to 100% (used 'top' to verify that its xorg spiking) and my machine completely locks up for almost a minute then returns back to normal.

the mouse pointer moves around, but the rest of the screen is unresponsive.

I would like to know if anyone has any ideas on how to fix this, so I can enable accelerated graphics and get beryl working.
