HI Everyone,

I have been heavily involved in researching filters for members of our church and I've decided that dansguardian is simply the best filter out there, especially since we are very interested in tight control of content on the internet.

I was researching the ability to send emails from dansguardian and I came across this forum, and I think I'll feel right at home here! But I'm using dansguardian as part of the firewall IPCop, instead of Ubuntu CE, so I am primarily interested in the dansguardian comments at the moment.

My first question is this: I saw screenshots of the Ubuntu CE gui, and one button said "image filtering". How is image filtering accomplished in Unbuntu? Is it through regex's in dansguardian? Or a command-line image recognition program?

By way, I have compiled an extensive sports keyword list as well as some sports regex's and I'd be glad to share them with anyone who wants them. I'm also testing a more thorough news keyword list at the moment.

Howdy and welcome. I love IPcop, but don't use dans guardian on it. I use advance proxy and Url filter that can be found at this address http://www.advproxy.net Then you can add a nice big blacklist from http://urlblacklist.com/ Also if you want to add basically IPS you can go to http://www.mhaddons.tk/ and get guardian this looks at the snort logs and will block traffic based on your rules. It makes for a very nice and secure setup with great content filtering.

Thanks for your reply. I'm really liking dansguardian, and I wasn't looking for another filter. I just wondered if someone had written a plugin for DG that did image analysis.

I did some more research and found that image filtering referred to pics filtering which I already use. It's less than a precise tool, to put it mildly, but every little bit helps.
